Victorian doors, as the name would imply, have been around for a long time and continue to be an incredibly popular choice in many types of property. Oak 4 panel doors are one of the most sought after, although at the beginning of the Victorian era it was actually the 6 panel doors that were most revered.

These 6 panel doors would have three rows of two panels, the two panels at the top being smaller in size. However, as time passed and tastes changed, the simpler four-panel style gradually took over in popularity.

Oak 4 panel doors are extremely versatile as a style and work in modern houses, barn conversions and country cottages all equally well.

The range of Victorian doors that we have in stock all all made from solid European oak and are hand constructed using traditional methods and sturdy mortice and tenon joints.

The floating oak panels can actually be removed because they are held in place by small nails rather than glue. This makes it a fairly simple job to swap panels out or add glazing either to start with or further down the line.  Half glazed 4 panel doors are great for adding light to a property.

Or you could even go the whole way and remove all of the oak panels to replace with glass for an even lighter and brighter feel.

As with all of our solid oak doors these are sold unfinished ready for final finishing at home to suit your personal preference and taste. We recommend Treatex hard wax oil to give your doors the perfect finish and keep them in great shape.
